Hello there! I am Sophia Moon, a Boston-based abstract artist and multi-passionate creative. I draw inspiration from music, movement, urban textures, and vibrant colors. In my creative process, I like to lean into exploration and play and I feel most alive when I embrace fluidity and improvise with layers and happy accidents in the moment. I create primarily with ink, watercolors, and acrylics, and I enjoy mixing in other mediums for mark making and to add texture.

My most recent collection of work, titled FLOW, is showing at Claire Carino Contemporary Gallery in SOWA, the art and design district located in South End. 

In addition to creating my art, I am the Chief Joymaker at Essem Art Studio, where the mission is to spark joy and cultivate creative confidence in artists of all ages. I am currently illustrating my first children’s book and I serve as the host of CreativeMornings’ Boston chapter, where I produce a monthly speaker series for the creative community in Boston.
